Description

This skirt is an iconic model from the late 1970s / early 1980s (estimated period between 1978 and 1984), a time when Yves Saint Laurent elevated velvet in his collections. The authenticity of the piece is certified by its original labels, featuring the official house references: Model number: 1-34445 (handwritten stamp by the YSL workshops) Color code: 06 corresponding to the brand's official deep midnight blue, very chic, subtly shifting with the light. The white "Yves Saint Laurent rive gauche" label with its characteristic red script typography from this decade. Material: High-end cotton cut velvet, very soft touch. Fully lined in navy blue satin. Color: Cut: High-waisted structured by a wide rigid waistband, elegant gathering details offering a lovely volume to the hips, slightly tulip/pencil cut. Practical and elegant, it features 2 discreet side pockets perfectly integrated into the seams. Closure: On the side with an invisible zip and two matching velvet-covered round buttons on the waistband. The little collector's extra: The skirt still has its original spare button sewn inside on the lining. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The velvet has retained all its depth and luster, the lining and buttons are intact. Size & Exact measurements (taken flat): Indicated as period size 38, but vintage runs very small.
